If you would like VLA or VLBA data copied to an Exabyte or DAT
tape, or VLA data placed in an anonymous FTP area, please fill out
the form below. There is a limit of 1 gigabyte for FTPable data,
which makes it impractical to FTP any VLBA data. The request will
be automatically mailed to the NRAO data analysts.
Availability
DAT (4mm: DDS2, DDS3, and DDS4) and Exabyte (8mm: 5 Gigabyte
capacity) tapes are the only magnetic media available. If you
cannot read high density (5GB) exabyte tapes, you may still request
a low density (2GB) exabyte tape in the notes section of this
form. Some data sets (especially spectral line data) may be too
large to fit on the FTP disk. Most tapes will be received within
one week for domestic addresses and within three weeks for
international addresses.
Billing
There will be a charge of $4.00 for Exabyte tapes, $7.00 for
DDS2, $14.00 for DDS3, and $26.00 for DDS4. Shipping to any
location within the U.S. is by Federal Express and costs $4.00.
Shipping to other locations is by 10 Day Air Parcel Post and costs
$4.00. Shipping to other locations by Federal Express is available
but will cost more.
The tapes will not be shipped until payment has been made to
NRAO. Payment may be made either in cash, check ($US on a
U.S. bank), money order, traveler's check, purchase order, or
credit card. To arrange payment or to expedite the shipment, please
contact Terry Lopez in Socorro (phone: 505-835-7374, fax:
505-835-7027, internet:
tlopez@nrao.edu).
Permissions
If you (or your advisor, for graduate students) were not listed
on the original proposal, you must first obtain permission from
the VLA/VLBA Schedulers, Joan Wrobel or Barry Clark
(schedsoc@nrao.edu)
before requesting the data. Please see the
VLA/VLBA Data Archive Policy
for more details.
