Absentee VLBI observing at the VLA is fully supported by VLA and VLBA Operations. VLBI at the VLA is overseen by Joan Wrobel and Greg Taylor (see Section 17). Either individual can be consulted for general information regarding VLBI at the VLA. However, each VLBI program involving the VLA, whether run during or outside of a Network session, will be assigned an AOC contact by Barry Clark (see Section 17). Queries from an observer concerning specific information about a specific program should be directed to the AOC contact assigned to the program. If a program's principal or co-investigator is an AOC employee, then that person is assumed to be the AOC contact. Although absentee VLBI observing is the norm, visits by observers are welcomed and are especially encouraged if the observations are in any way atypical. Included in this category are VLBI spectral line programs regardless of recording format, and any phased-array VLBI programs for which radio frequency interference is expected (see Section 8).
