Online Dopset Tool

The Dopset Tool can be used to calculate absolute (sky) frequencies given a position, an epoch, a rest frequency, and velocity information.

The LST day is a term dating back to the VLA days. It can be calculated from the Modified Julian Date (MJD) as follows:

LST Day = 6572.1572917 + 1.002737909350759 * MJD

     Right Ascension (J2000):    Hours      Minutes      Seconds  

     Declination (J2000):    Degrees      Minutes      Seconds  

     line rest frequency (MHz):   

     velocity (km/s):       Frame:    LSR      Heliocentric      Type:    radio      optical  

     LST day:       Hours      Minutes      Seconds
